Meet Recap

Congratulations to the Buckeye Valley Boys’ Cross Country team for competing in the OHSAA State Championship Saturday, November 4th at National Trails Raceway in Hebron.

This marks the second consecutive year Buckeye Valley has sent a boys team to the State Championship and also just the second time in school history. The 2016 Boys team placed 14th overall.

The Barons were led by senior Zach Kreft. Zach defended his state title from last season and becomes a two time state champion. Zach was ahead of second place by 21 seconds to cap off an incredible cross country career. Zach is a four time state qualifier, four time MOAC champion, three time district champion, two time regional champion, two time state champion, Academic All Ohioian & currently leads the US with the fastest 5k time posted this cross country season.

Bill Daily, Nathan Holst, Gavin Shearer, Jacob Zinn, Cameron Hurt & Nathan Heiser all contributed in helping lead the Barons to their best team finish in school history at the OHSAA State Championship. The boys placed 9th with a team score of 249 points.
