Buckeye Valley defeated Linden McKinley 74-40 in their opening game of the 2017-18 season. Leading the Barons starting lineup was senior #14 Alaina Radcliffe with 17 points, followed by sophomore #5 Dani Grether with 15 points off the bench. The Barons put the game away in the 3rd quarter with a 25-11 effort over Linden out of halftime. Buckeye Valley returns to action on Friday, December 1st. The JV begins at 6PM as the Barons open MOAC play vs. River Valley.

Congratulations to the Buckeye Valley Boys’ Cross Country team for competing in the OHSAA State Championship Saturday, November 4th at National Trails Raceway in Hebron.

This marks the second consecutive year Buckeye Valley has sent a boys team to the State Championship and also just the second time in school history. The 2016 Boys team placed 14th overall.

The Barons were led by senior Zach Kreft. Zach defended his state title from last season and becomes a two time state champion. Zach was ahead of second place by 21 seconds to cap off an incredible cross country career. Zach is a four time state qualifier, four time MOAC champion, three time district champion, two time regional champion, two time state champion, Academic All Ohioian & currently leads the US with the fastest 5k time posted this cross country season.

Bill Daily, Nathan Holst, Gavin Shearer, Jacob Zinn, Cameron Hurt & Nathan Heiser all contributed in helping lead the Barons to their best team finish in school history at the OHSAA State Championship. The boys placed 9th with a team score of 249 points.

Great job on capping off an outstanding season for the Barons Cross Country team!

Congratulations to the Buckeye Valley Girls’ Cross Country team for competing in the OHSAA State Championship Saturday, November 4th at National Trails Raceway in Hebron.

This marks the third time Buckeye Valley has sent a girls team to the State Championship. The previous two times came in 2004 & 2005 as both teams finished 15th.

The Barons were led by freshman Chloe Dawson. Chloe finished 6th place with an 18:39, earning an All-Ohio podium spot. Chloe suffered a stress fracture & tendonitis prior to the MOAC championship but was able to set her focus and full comeback for the State Championship. Chloe was the top freshman in the DII state championship.

Ashley Beatty ran a personal best time of 19:49 earning her the #3 fastest time in Buckeye Valley Girls’ history.

Chayse Arnhold, Bailey Kreft, Susie York, Jia Radloff & Lane Graham also helped the Barons place 11th overall, the highest team finish in Buckeye Valley Girls’ history.

Great job on capping off an outstanding season for the Lady Barons Cross Country team!

Barons News · 2017 Baron Baseball Winter Skills Camp


Buckeye Valley Baseball will be holding a Winter Skills Youth Baseball Camp for players in grades 3-8. This skills camp will be offered in three different sessions, broken down by the different parts of the game: Offensive (Hitting and Baserunning) – Defensive (Infield/Outfield) – Pitching and Catching. Throughout this three week camp players will be given the skills and fundamentals associated with the Buckeye Valley High School baseball program. Players will be instructed by the Buckeye Valley High School Coaching Staff, Collegiate Players, and Current BV Baseball Players. Camp attendees will receive a camp t-shirt. Our goals of the Winter Skills Camp is to establish basic fundamentals and skills associated with our program, develop a relationship with younger prospective Baron Baseball players, and help to instill a competitive edge within our youth baseball players.

At the Regional Championship, the Buckeye Valley Girls’ Cross Country team earned a trip to the State Cross Country Championship.

The girls’ team placed 5th in the field of 19 teams with 190 points. The top 6 schools from the Pickerington region advanced to the State Meet. The girls’ head to the State Championship meet for the third time in Buckeye Valley girls’ cross country history, with the other two seasons being 2004 & 2005.

The Barons were led by Ashley Beatty who placed 36th. Ashley was followed by her teammates Bailey Kreft 38th, Chloe Dawson 40th, Chayse Arnhold 43rd, Susie York 80th, Lane Graham 87th & Jia Radloff 93rd.

The Barons were led by Zach Kreft who won his second regional individual cross country title. Zach was followed by his “All Region” teammates Bill Daily (27th) & Nathan Holst (28th). Gavin Shearer placed 42nd, Jacob Zinn 49th, Nathan Heiser 81st & Cameron Hurt 99th.
