The Buckeye Valley Boys Varsity Basketball Team got back on the winning track Saturday night as they traveled to The Wellington School and improved their record to 7-1 with a 65-49 victory. This was the first Mid-State League game of the season for the Barons. After a tight first half, the Barons used a 23 point 3rd quarter to pull away from Wellington en route to the win. Senior forward Jake Radcliffe had a huge night for the Barons. Radcliffe scored a game high 20 points and grabbed a game high 9 rebounds. Junior forward Troy Scowden had a similar performance, scoring 17 points and grabbing 7 rebounds. Senior guard Jack Rotondo had 10 points, while junior guard Mason Kurtz had 9 points and played exceptional defense on Wellington’s best player. Junior guard Owen Osborne ran the offense and had a game high 6 assists for the Barons. The Barons will be back in action next Friday, January 15 as they travel to Grandview for a Mid-State league game.
